Guidelines and Procedures

OUR BUYERS ARE AVAILABLE

Monday-Friday 10AM – 5:00PM

Saturday 10AM-3:00PM

Our Guidelines:

  • There is no charge for evaluating your items to sell.
  • We will not supply you with a formal written appraisal for resale, insurance, will, estate or other legal purposes.
  • We only purchase from adults 21 years of age and older.
  • We do not buy from anyone whom we feel is suspect of theft.
  • We do not buy plated, filled or costume jewelry unless it is antique and/or has some other inherent value to us for resale.
  • We do not quote any prices over the phone. We must physically see the piece to determine whether or not we can buy it and its worth.
  • You must bring a valid driver’s license that we can photocopy for our records.
  • We can only make checks payable to the person who is present with the jewelry.
  • We pay you the quoted price the day you visit in the form of a check. We cannot promise to hold a quoted price due to specific daily market values, our inventory and other variable circumstances of consideration that are factors in our offer-making process.
  • Customers are seen on a first-come, first serve basis unless an appointment is made.
  • We make appointments. We cannot promise a specific wait time on walk ins. Your wait will be determined by how many customers are ahead of you, how many items that each person has, and what they have to sell (for example, if a person has several pieces of gold in question and we have to test each one, that will take a little more time).
  • You can leave your items for inspection without your presence if you do not care to wait to see our buyer personally. However, we cannot supply an inventory list or receipt. We only take your name and number to associate with your items. We will call when we have a quote for you and you can come to collect your check and/or items that we were not able to purchase.
  • If you are an elderly, disabled or handicapped person that has trouble leaving your vehicle, we will provide curb service. This includes taking your items into our buyer for evaluation and returning with our findings for your approval on the price. If you determine to sell the items, we will need a copy of your license and bring your check out to you as well and any items that we were not able to purchase. If you decide not to accept our offer, your items will be returned to you.

OUR PROCEDURE:

Our buyers see customers that have signed in, in the order of their arrival. While you wait, you may feel free to shop or browse, or wait in our waiting area until your name is called.

We have a waiting area, or you may feel free to shop, or browse while you wait. During this time, our associates are also available to offer watch and jewelry repair quotes, simple jewelry cleanings, watch battery services, wish list creations, and/or assist you with your shopping experience. When your name is called, you’ll meet with one of our buyers in a private office to discuss your items.

If it is determined that we can purchase your items, we will make you an offer. If you choose to accept this offer, we will request a copy of your driver’s license and write a check payable to you immediately.

If you would like to cash your check right away, Crescent State Bank, located beside our store, will cash your check for free. Your Perry’s issued check may also be used like cash in our store, toward the sale of any item, repair or layaway. If there is a difference owed to you, a new check will be issued in the amount of difference. Please keep in mind that we expedite the buying process as much as possible and we do value your time.

However, because we are reputable and pay great prices, we are often busy. Similarly, because we have so many customers, we are not able to chat very long or go through a lengthy process of helping you determine whether or not you want to part with your items. It’s a good idea for you to determine, before you come in, if you really want to sell sentimental jewelry, watches, coins, family silver, etc.
