Brittany, James, Megan and Murray
Brittany
We were lucky enough to have Brittany join the Perry’s Team just this past October to get the shop ready for Christmas, and take us to the next level of customer service in our repair department!
Brittany comes to us with a BFA in Metal Design from East Carolina University as well as professional experience with other Wilmington jewelers and Emerge Gallery in Greenville.
She has extensive experience in Enameling, with specialties in Basse Taille. In addition, Brittany has continued her education in Lapidary Arts for faceted and cabochon cutting techniques, as well as Korean Surface Embellishment, Komelia Okim, and Chasing & Repousse.
Brittany says, her interest in fashion and appetite for creativity is what made her choose a career in jewelry, but her best creation thus far, is her beautiful baby girl! So when she’s not in the shop, Brittany is an avid beach bum with Camden Simone and hubby, Ken. She also loves cooking and gardening.
Megan
Although Megan has only been with Perry’s for little over a year, she has been a jeweler since 2003.
Megan says she enjoys what she does because of the gratification she gets of making something look new again, and the happiness that it brings customers. She also says, “It is a great creative outlet to occasionally make a piece of jewelry from scratch.”
Megan has a Bachelors Degree from SUNY Geneseo in Studio Art and Art History, with concentrations in ceramics and metals. She is also currently pursuing a Masters Degree in teaching (special education and elementary education).
Between work, school and student teaching, she has little free time. However, Megan enjoys reading, walking on the beach, kayaking and the rare opportunity to spend time with her dog and husband.
Megan’s co-workers will tell you …
Although only part time as a bench jeweler, her impact on the shop is amazing!
Megan’s steady drive and vibrant smile make her a valuable asset to our repair department.
She works with speed and accuracy.
Megan uses her talents to do what’s best for the clients
She is classy with a strong sense of style
Megan has a wonderful attention for detail
Murray
Murray’s love for metals, stones and tinkering started even as a child, with the influence of his grandmother. Over the years, he has perfected his craft and established an impressive resume, including jewelry designer and gallery owner of an exclusive shop in Carmel, California.
Murray came to us just this past fall, and boy are we glad he did! Our shop needed him!
Designing and creating is his passion… anything from antique redesigns to new, custom one-of-a-kind fashions, Murray loves a challenge and says that wowing the customer is the force that drives him.
When he’s not slaving away at his bench, Murray loves to spend time with his wife and children (who just moved here from the West coast) and go to the beach.
Murray’s co-workers will tell you …
Although he hasn’t been here long, it took only a few complicated repairs for me to realize we have a real gem in the shop!
Murray is extremely talented and creative
His can-do attitude is awesome! He is always smiling.
Murray is great at bringing customers’ visions to life.
It doesn’t matter if a customer’s piece is worth $5 or $50,000; Murray does his best to make sure each customer feels special and important.
Murray is a very experienced and innovative jeweler designer.
He is not only a nice, hard working guy, but very talented as well!
Murray does his best to not only make customers happy, but ensure that they are absolutely thrilled with their repairs and custom designed pieces! He definitely has a passion for his work and for people.
